I printed out these desk labels and had them lamenated before taping them to my students' desks. It was a great way to arrange group work. It allows you to look at the group arrangements before entering the classroom. I also printed and lamenated a second set which I kept in an index card box. If students are not participating or paying attention, you can draw a card at random to call on a student. I just thought that you might find these useful. I received great feedback from my students on these with comments such as, "It was great! I got to meet new people!" I think it's amazing that some students have been in class together all year and they never even met one another before using this method for grouping!
